Advocate for HER is an initiative hoping to establish chapters globally with the goal of ending period poverty. The lack of feminine products in schools affects girls' education and puts all of us in struggle. No girl should go through such issues because of a lack of menstrual products. We are hoping to establish chapters worldwide that will lead cause-related projects in their schools/communities to end period poverty.

 

This matters so much because we've seen the importance of period products in schools. We've seen the effects of the lack of menstrual products in bathrooms on girls. l, Nil Demirag, started this organization when I first led a feminine product drive at my school with my club, Women in STEM, and we stacked all bathrooms with feminine products. Over 4,000 was collected. We've gotten so much feedback on how much it helped and made lives much easier. Seeing this in my school, I can't imagine how this situation is in other schools, especially in schools in underprivileged areas around the world.

So far, we've collected and donated over 7,000 products to schools and have 10 established chapters worldwide.

Something as simple as a menstrual cycle should not pulls girls away from their education. Join us today and help end this issue.
